What a wonderful afternoon we had on Saturday as we came together to celebrate and thank our players, coaches and volunteers. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in such great numbers and made the most of the perfect sunshine as we farewelled season 2026.

A very special thank you to @waverleymeadowsps_3150 for allowing us to host the event at the school. It was a fantastic venue for the day. We are also so grateful to our wonderful vendors, who kept everyone entertained with awesome activities, beautiful live music and delicious food that proved to be a huge hit. Thanks also to OpenCorp, our Major Sponsor, for their insightful property presentation.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sharon Adams. Many of you would have received a copy of our 2026 Yearbook, which was released on Presentation Day — and wasn’t it fantastic? The amount of work that goes into producing such a magnificent keepsake is enormous, and Sharon is truly a master at it. Her dedication to having it ready on time is second to none, and we are incredibly lucky to have such a talented and committed person on our team. Thank you, Sharon!

This event also would not have been possible without our hardworking Committee members, who all rallied together to make the day such a success. Our chief organisers, Belinda Wray (me!) and Sharon Adams, led the charge, and I think we can proudly say we pulled it off. As anyone on the Committee knows, it is never just us doing the work — our families are often roped in too! So a HUGE shoutout to the Committee husbands, wives and kids who worked so hard to help with both the set-up and the pack-up, right through until 9pm.

Our brilliant Committee hosted another fantastic After Match for Finals Week 2 and it was packed to the rafters. A huge thanks to @mulgravepizzahouse for the delicious pizzas, we sold out twice over!!

Congratulations to all of our brilliant After Match award winners 👏👏👏👏

We celebrated some amazing winners of our inaugural After Match awards. Thanks to our MC and After Match coordinator, Scott Adams, who created these awards after a memorable year.

We also farewelled two of our teams - U17.5 Wyllie and our U16 Ryan team. After a wonderful season by both, the results on Sunday didn’t go our way and they were knocked out of the finals. Congrats fellas on a season well done! We will farewell the U17.5 Wyllie team at their Best and Fairest next week as their time in junior footy comes to an end.

And with that we ended the night with not one but TWO PREMIERSHIPS celebrations!

Congrats again to our U11 Ternes team and our U13 Georgios team who unveiled their flags and showed off their new silverware on stage!

This event is one of the most important on the club’s calendar where we get to remember the ‘season that was’ for the Hawks and Auskick participants. We celebrate the great achievements of our teams, we award the special performances and participation of our players and we thank our coaches and officials.

Attendance at this event is compulsory for all U8-U16 players as their trophies will be distributed at the event. If any families/players cannot attend, please advise your coaches so they can ensure all trophies/awards are collected and can be passed on. After your team presentations, stick around to socialise with your friends, grab some great food, get involved in all the fun activities and enjoy a great evening to cap off the season.

Activities include:
• Team presentations
• Food trucks and bar
• Photo booth
• Inflatables
• Raffles and Prizes
• Live acoustic musicians
and more!

An incredible day of finals footy today!

3 wins and 3 losses

Some extremely close matches that went down to the wire and some brilliant displays of dominance sees all 6 of our teams progress to the next stage.

U11 Ternes and U13 Georgios are straight through to the GRANNY and our Snart, Phibbs, Ryan and Wyllie team are back to win next week in Prelim finals

Cannot wait for next weekend!!!!!

After Match is here for Finals Week 1 and is being hosted by our Committee!

Royal Stacks, our new 2026 Platinum Sponsor, will be serving up dinner for us and we cannot wait!! There will be beef and chicken burgers with chips available as well as sausages in bread.

Don’t forget we’ll be at Central Reserve - Mazenod Old Collegians Ground - Cnr Waverley and Springvale Road, Glen Waverley. You will find the parking entrance is from the Waverley Rd side.

Come on down to the Central Reserve clubrooms from 5:30pm on Sunday and enjoy some dinner, drinks and catching up with all the other Waverley Park Hawks families.

The kids can have a kick on the oval under lights and presentations will commence around 6:30pm where we will acknowledge all medal and award winners for the round and hopefully celebrate some week 1 finals wins.

There will also be the famous players draw for all WPHawks players in attendance and our raffle.
